Changes are coming

We want to you to tell you about some exciting changes in relation to your housing application. 

Both the Tees Valley Lettings Partnership and Thirteen will be launching a new way of advertising properties and applying for a home across the Tees Valley.

Thirteen

From 9th November 2020, Thirteen will no longer be a part of the Tees Valley Lettings Partnership, but will still advertise a percentage of their empty homes for nomination via Compass. For Hartlepool, this is 75% of empty homes and for Stockton and Middlesbrough it’s 50%.

Thirteen has launched the ‘My Thirteen’ digital lettings platform which will allow existing Thirteen customers more access to the services they deliver such as rents, repairs and tenancy management.  They will advertise their vacant properties using this platform alongside a new Lettings Policy.

Tees Valley Lettings Partnership

The Tees Valley Lettings Partnership (which includes Darlington Borough Council, Hartlepool Borough Council, Middlesbrough Council, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Beyond Housing, North Star and Home Group) will launch a new digital lettings platform to replace the existing Compass Choice Based Lettings system early 2021.  This will be known as the ‘Tees Valley Home Finder’ which will also advertise available properties from a variety of other landlords including Thirteen. 

We will keep you up to date with future changes, however until then please continue to log onto your Compass housing application and bid on suitable properties.

Why are these changes happening?

Customers have told us that the current Compass system is no longer fit for purpose.  We have listened and both the Tees Valley Lettings Partnership and Thirteen have agreed that we need something new.  The new Digital Lettings Platforms will be modern and customer friendly and make applying for a home easier and quicker for all customers.

Do I need to apply twice?

Yes.  Until the new Tees Valley Home Finder site is up and running, you may also wish to register with Thirteen directly via their My Thirteen site.  For more information on My Thirteen, click here.

Who do I contact instead of Thirteen to discuss my current Compass Application?

You should call one of our partners if you need to discuss your Compass application for housing, contact details are shown below;

A new shared service team has been introduced for customers in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees areas. therefore, if you live in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough or Stockton-on-Tees, call 01642 393939 and select Option 4 or email housing@stockton.gov.uk

What will happen to my Compass Application?

Your Compass application will remain LIVE until our new Tees Valley Home Finder goes live.  Please don’t worry, we will contact you in the future to explain when this change is happening and what you will need to do.
